Holographic & Water-Vapour Fireplaces

No flue, no fuel. Fire where a chimney was never possible: the apartment, the inside wall, the room the building was never going to let you vent.

The first fireplaces we can install almost anywhere

Every other fireplace in the collection needs a way out of the building. These two do not. The Aquafire makes its flame from lit water vapour: a fine mist rising through light, moving exactly as fire does, running on tap water and giving off no heat at all. The Ergofocus Holographik® takes Dominique Imbert’s suspended, pivoting Ergofocus and puts flames inside it produced in three dimensions by a holographic system, with the crackle of wood and nothing leaving the room but the sound. Neither has a flue, a gas line or an emission.

That opens rooms that were closed. The apartment with a strata that will not allow a vent; the inside wall with nowhere to run a flue; the restaurant, the lobby, the room the building’s structure was never going to give a chimney to. The Aquafire sits in a wall, a cabinet or a piece of furniture; the Holographik® hangs from the ceiling like the Ergofocus it is built on, and it is on display in our showroom.

Because these fires do not need a vent, the question is only where they should be. That is a design conversation as much as a technical one, and it is one Maxwell Fireplace has with you: choosing between the two, drawing the fire on the wall or the ceiling, planning the water for the Aquafire and the structure for the Holographik®, and installing it with our own crew. The cabinetry, the ceiling detail or the wall around it we plan together with the trades doing it — yours, or ones we bring in. Send us a photograph of the room that could never have a fireplace and we will show you how it can.

Creative FireSpaces™

A fireplace is only half of it. The other half is who places it.

Maxwell Fireplace is North Vancouver’s Creative FireSpaces™ — and we stay involved in every part of the job. The fireplace itself is ours from the first conversation to the final flame: design and placement, permitting, delivery, installation, and the care that comes after. When the work runs to a surround, a mantel, tile or millwork, we plan it with the trades doing it — yours, or ones we bring in — so the fire and the wall are drawn as one thing rather than two. One point of contact, and nothing lost in the gap between trades.

It’s exactly why a flameless fire belongs with us. A fire with no flue only pays off if it was placed where the room wanted it rather than where a chimney allowed, the ceiling or the cabinet was planned for it, and the water and the power were run before the finish went on — and that is the difference between an appliance and a centrepiece. We serve homeowners and contractors across Greater Vancouver, the North Shore, and the Sea to Sky Corridor — Squamish to Whistler and Pemberton — and we’d love to show you what’s possible for the room that could never have a fireplace.

Worth the wait.
