Regency Gas Fireplaces in Vancouver
Built in Delta, British Columbia, and chosen, installed and looked after by Maxwell Fireplace in North Vancouver: the City Series, the Grandview, the Atmosphere inserts and the outdoor Horizons.
Vancouver · The North Shore · Whistler
Regency fireplaces are made across the river from us, in Delta, by Fireplace Products International, a company that has been building gas and wood fires in British Columbia since 1979. That proximity is not a footnote. It means short lead times, parts and service on this coast, and a fireplace engineered for the way we heat here: long damp winters, well-sealed houses, and a living room that wants to look at the fire as much as feel it.
What Regency does particularly well is the large-format fire that behaves. The Cool Wall System draws the convective heat out of the firebox and sends it into the room, so the wall directly above the glass stays cool enough for a television, a piece of art or tile run flush to the fire. The City Series adds power venting, so a long, frameless ribbon of flame can sit on an interior wall or in a condominium tower, in the room with the view rather than the room with the chimney. The Grandview does the same for a traditional log fire, and the Atmosphere inserts bring the idea to an old masonry opening.
Maxwell Fireplace is a Regency dealer in North Vancouver. We show the fires in our showroom, help you choose the model, the firebed and the finish, and then place and install it ourselves: the measuring, the vent run, the framing, the permit, the installation and the care that comes after. When the work runs to a surround, a mantel, tile or millwork, we plan it with the trades doing it — yours, or ones we bring in. Below is every Regency we carry, arranged by the kind of room it suits.

Every Regency we carry
Each has its own page, with the sizes, the firebeds and the finishes.
For the long wall — linear
Frameless, edge-to-edge fire, with power venting that lets it live almost anywhere.
The Regency City Series
Five forms named after cities: the single-sided New York View, the three-sided San Francisco Bay, the Chicago Corner, the Santa Monica Pier and the Seattle See-Through, from 40 to 72 inches, with Cool Wall and power venting.
The Regency New York View 60
The 60-inch single-sided City Series fire on its own page: a tall, wide window of flame with no grilles and no vents, and tile or marble run right up to the glass.
For the traditional room — a log fire
A big, confident wood-look fire, with the wall above kept cool.
For the fireplace you have — inserts
Turn a tired masonry fireplace into a sealed, efficient heater, and rebuild the wall around it.
For the garden and the deck — outdoor
Weatherproof gas fire with no flue, no wiring and no woodpile.
Where we install Regency
In Vancouver
The city’s houses ask different things of a fireplace. A new build on a long wall wants the City Series or the New York View 60, and because the City Series is power-vented it can go on an interior wall or high in a tower where a passive vent could not reach. A character house with a tired masonry fireplace wants an Atmosphere LE insert, and often the steel-stud reface that goes with it. A family room with a television over the hearth wants the Grandview and its Cool Wall. We handle the strata correspondence, the permit and the installation, and we confirm the vent route before anything is ordered. Natural gas fireplaces have always been permitted in the City of Vancouver; we explain the history in The End of Vancouver’s Gas Restrictions.
On the North Shore
The showroom is in North Vancouver, and the factory is twenty-five minutes down the road in Delta. From Lower Lonsdale to Deep Cove and across to West Vancouver, we plan and install Regency fireplaces in view homes, renovated post-war houses and new builds, and the outdoor Horizons and Plateau burners on the decks and patios that look back at the city.
In Whistler
Many of the people who visit our showroom have a second home in Whistler, and a big gas fire that lights from a remote and keeps the wall cool suits a house that is full on weekends and empty between them. The Grandview and the City Series are both at home there, and we are in Whistler regularly. Fireplaces for Whistler homes →
Questions people tend to ask
Where can I buy a Regency gas fireplace in Vancouver?
At Maxwell Fireplace, in our showroom at 1380 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver, open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. You can see Regency fires burning, choose the model, firebed and finish, and talk through the pricing with us there. We sell, install and look after the fireplaces we show.
Which Regency is right for my home?
It depends on the wall and the room. For a long, modern wall, the City Series, with the New York View 60 as the single-sided 60-inch; for a peninsula, a corner or two rooms sharing one fire, the City Series’ Bay, Corner and See-Through forms; for a traditional log fire with a television above it, the Grandview in one of three sizes; for an old masonry fireplace, an Atmosphere LE insert; and for the deck or garden, the outdoor Horizons, Plateau burners and fire table. Bring a photograph and we will tell you which one the room can hold.
Where are Regency fireplaces made?
In Delta, British Columbia, by Fireplace Products International, which has built fireplaces in BC since 1979. For a Vancouver homeowner that means short lead times, and parts and service on this coast.
Can I put a television above a Regency fireplace?
On the Grandview and the City Series, yes. The Cool Wall System draws the convective heat out of the firebox and sends it into the room, so the wall directly above the glass stays cool enough for a television, art, or tile and stone run flush to the fire. We confirm the clearances for your exact model and finish before the wall is built.
Can a Regency go on an interior wall or in a condo tower?
The City Series can. It is built around a power venting system that pushes the exhaust much further than a passive vent, through long horizontal runs and several bends, so the fire can sit in the middle of a floor plan or high in a tower. The Grandview and the Atmosphere inserts use conventional direct venting, and we check the route for every model before anything is ordered.
Do you install Regency fireplaces on the North Shore and in Whistler?
Yes. We install across Vancouver, the North Shore and the Sea to Sky Corridor, from Squamish to Whistler and Pemberton. See where we work and fireplaces for Whistler homes.
Are gas fireplaces allowed in Vancouver?
Yes. Natural gas fireplaces have always been permitted in the City of Vancouver, including through the years of its gas restrictions, which targeted space and water heating rather than fireplaces. Policy is still in motion, so we check what applies to your address before anything is ordered.
How much does a Regency gas fireplace cost?
It depends less on the fire than on everything around it: the model and size, the firebed and finish, the vent run, the framing, the permit and the installation. Two homes with the same Regency can arrive at quite different figures, so we do not publish a price list. Visit the showroom with photographs or plans and we will go through the options and the pricing with you there.
Who handles the permit and the strata?
We do. From the site assessment and the strata correspondence through the permit, installation and final commissioning, the fireplace work is ours: one team, one point of contact.
A fireplace is only half of it. The other half is who places it.
Maxwell Fireplace is North Vancouver’s Creative FireSpaces™ — and we stay involved in every part of the job. The fireplace itself is ours from the first conversation to the final flame: design and placement, permitting, delivery, installation, and the care that comes after. When the work runs to a surround, a mantel, tile or millwork, we plan it with the trades doing it — yours, or ones we bring in — so the fire and the wall are drawn as one thing rather than two. One point of contact, and nothing lost in the gap between trades.
It’s exactly why a Regency belongs with us. A Cool Wall only earns its name if the finish above it is planned with the fire, and a power-vented City Series lives or dies on a vent route drawn before the framing goes up. We serve homeowners and contractors across Greater Vancouver, the North Shore, and the Sea to Sky Corridor — Squamish to Whistler and Pemberton — and we’d love to show you what’s possible for your room.
